Application and capacities

The Astrid is a brig what means a total square rigged sailing vessel. Under British flag she was sailing many years as training ship in international waters. In the year 1997 she got a total refit.

The interior with the mess room and the cabins is tastefully designed according the present demands for passenger cruises. Astrid can be used for cruises with overnights on board with up to 22 passengers in 11 double room cabins. She is also available for day and evening cruises with up to 55 passengers. Further for long sea voyages for schools, boarding schools and other groups of young people and individuals are possible.

The Astrid meets highest safety standards according the European Directive 98/18 on standards for passenger ships in Europe. For long voyages out of European waters the ship is classified according SI1234 and certified as Special Purpose Ship.

During the summer Astrid in general is operating in Northern Europe. In the early autumn she sails the classic sailing route through the Canarian Islands and the Cape Verdean Islands to arrive finally in the Caribbean. Astrid spends the winter months there and comes back to Europe through the Bermudas and the Azores in spring time.

The Astrid is an exclusive location for incentives, business meetings, VIP weekends, regatta accompanying cruises, private charter and long sea voyages. We can highly recommend her for sail training with young people and individuals.
