The sailing ship Alexander von Humboldt II is the successor of the legendary Becks beer ship with the green sails and was provided as a complete new construction in 2011. Primarily the ship was built for sail training and sailing experience for young people. Accordingly, the "Alex II" takes part in tall ship races in Europe and in international waters.
